PSL 2023: Babar Azam cleaning stadium – Japanese football fans had caught the attention of the world during the FIFA World Cup for cleaning up football stadiums after the match. Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam recently took a leaf out of their book and was captured cleaning the stadium following the Pakistan Super League match. Babar Azam decided to clean the area near the players dugout. He was joined by other players and along with them he collected the garbage in the dustbin. Andrew Tye, who is part of Karachi, joined Peshawar’s players to clean the ground. Babar Azam got traded to Peshawar Zalmi from Karachi Kings before the season.

Peshawar Zalmi escapes with a win against Karachi Kings
Babar Azam made an impressive start to PSL 2023 scoring a half century in the Zalmi’s opening encounter. His team went onto win the match by 2 runs. In the game, the Kings skipper Imad Wasim won the toss and elected to bowl first. They had a good start as left-arm pacer Mir Hamza trapped Mohammad Haris for lbw in the second over of the innings.
In the same over, Saim Ayub got run out. Azam and Tom Cohler-Cadmore put together 139 runs for the third wicket. Babar scored 68 off 50 balls consisting seven fours and a six. On the other hand, Cadmore got to 92 before missing out on a T20 hundred. With Jimmy Neesham scoring 16 off 11 balls and the support of Azam and Cadmore, the team reached 199/5.

In reply, the Kings got off to a worst start as they lost four wickets for 46 runs. Skipper Wasim and former Pakistan international, Shoaib Malik pretty much brought the team close putting together 131 runs for the fifth wicket. However, in the end, it was Zalmi who won the match.
Babar Azam eyes PSL title and Cricket World Cup
During a recent interview Babar Azam has set himself goals to achieve the first being scoring a century in the ongoing season of PSL and be a part of a World Cup-winning team. Speaking to Cricket Pakistan he said, “I have a lot to achieve, but my main goal is to score maiden PSL century in this year’s season and win PSL for Peshawar Zalmi. I also want to win this year’s ICC World Cup 2023 scheduled in India, and I want my country to be named the winning side.”
