Thanks to Babar’s exploits with the bat, Peshawar Zalmi posted a 180+ in their allotted 20 overs before losing eight wickets. To loser of the encounter between Islamabad and Peshawar Zalmi will be eliminated from the competition. The winner of the game will face Lahore Qalandars for the final’s spot. Meanwhile, Azam in a recent interview said that he prefers Big Bash League over the Indian Premier League which is slated to start on March 31. Babar also gave his rationale behind choosing the BBL. ”The conditions over there in Australia are different. The pitches over there are really fast and you get to learn a lot. Whereas in IPL, you get the same Asian conditions,” Babar said.

Babar is yet to feature in the Big Bash League, whereas no Pakistani cricketer has taken part in the IPL after the first season of the tournament, due to political tensions between India and Pakistan.
