PSL 2021: Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed boards flight to Abu Dhabi – Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) is all set to kick off again after a break due to rising cases of COVID-19 in Pakistan. The second phase of PSL will be played in UAE. However, things did not go smoothly for the PSL management as Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed was denied clearance to fly to Abu Dhabi two times. On Tuesday he finally got the clearance and took a flight to Abu Dhabi.

Geo News reported that former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz was travelling on his residence visa which is invalid according to new rules. However, the visa issue was sorted and he tried to board a flight on Monday but there was no flight available after which he had to postpone his plan to Tuesday. On Tuesday Sarfaraz left for the middle east and will be seen leading the Quetta franchise.

PSL 2021: Six Pakistan players left the country to take part in phase two of PSL 6. The remainder of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021), which was slated to start from June 1, has been delayed after visa problems of players and officials. PSL was suspended midway in March this year due to Covid-19 cases and has suffered impediments prior to resumption.

Meanwhile, teams are trying their best to keep up with the UAE heat. “We have a strategy to use coconut water as much as we can to maintain body temperature. We need to keep the boys hydrated and avoid the risk of cramping. Since most of the games will be played at night, we are not worried about heat strokes,” Mohammad Akram, Peshawar Zalmi head coach, told ESPNcricinfo.

“It’s more about how we combat the humidity. Hence, the use of coconut water helps us against the risk of losing electrolytes from the body. I am not sure if more than two or three extra breaks are feasible in between the innings but we plan to supply coconut water at the boundary especially for the bowlers,” he concluded.
