Upcoming off-spinner Minnu Mani is all set to lead India ‘A’ women against Australia ‘A’ in the multi-format Australia tour, starting on August 7. The series that will have three T20s, three one-dayers, and a four-day encounter, will see Shweta Sehrawat as the vice-captain of the side.
Meanwhile, Shabnam Shakeel has been added to the tour, but her availability is still subject to fitness, and fast bowler Saima Thakor has been kept on standby for her. The team will also see the likes of India cap Priya Punia, who is yet to cement her place in the India line up. Out of favour fast-bowler Meghana Singh would like to come up with decent performances as well.
The tour will also be an opportunity for explosive batter Kiran Navgire to find her form, and return to the Indian side. The 29-year-old has played 6 T20Is for the country, but hasn’t produced any substantial performance so far. In fact, she had a poor WPL as well.
