Indian batter Prithvi Shaw was in sublime touch during a group stage match of the Royal One-Day Cup. With this double century, Shaw become the only third cricketer in the world to score a double hundred in the tournament’s history. He also broke Robinson’s record of the highest individual score of 206 registered last year. With this milestone, Shaw has somewhat shut down the critics.

Shaw scored just 60 runs in his last two outings in England
Earlier, the right-handed batter scored 60 runs in the opening two matches but he ended his poor form by blasting 207* off just 134 balls with the help of 25 fours and eight sixes at Northampton’s County Ground.
As mentioned above, Shaw became the first-ever Indian batter to score a double ton in the tournament and also broke the record of the highest score set last year in England’s List A cricket tournament.
Before this match, Shaw found himself unlucky as he failed to convert a good start to a big score. As mentioned, Shaw failed to convert a good start into a big knock as he lost his control after missing a fierce bouncer from the Dutch pacer Paul van Meekeren in the 16the over. Shaw hit the stumps on his way down and was given out on hit-wicket.
Earlier, Northamptonshire had announced Shaw’s arrival for his maiden stint in the English county circuit through Twitter recently. “It’s a great opportunity for me and I’m really thankful to Northamptonshire for giving me this chance to express myself here,” Shaw was quoted as saying in a media release.
