Prithvi Shaw Selfie ROW: Fans and supporters have come out in support of Prithvi Shaw after Bhojpuri actress and influencer Sapna Gill filed a new complaint against him after she was released from jail. Shaw and his friends instigated them, according to Gill, one of the eight persons arrested for beating and vandalising the car of the cricketer’s friend. “We didn’t beat anyone, nor did we ask for money. They put the wrong allegations about us. I didn’t ask for any selfies. We were enjoying ourselves, so my friend tried to make a video,” she told ANI.

Gill, who was arrested for assaulting Shaw after he allegedly rejected her request for a selfie a second time, continued, “I saw that they were beating my friend. I went there and stopped them. My friend tried to make a video to show the proof. They beat me with a baseball after I tried to save my friend. One or two people hit me and touched my private parts, and even slapped me.”

Shaw is accused with being assaulted and having his car damaged with a baseball bat outside a hotel in Mumbai’s Santacruz area after the batter refused to take any more selfies with the Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur.

Shaw is charged with violating the IPC’s Sections 34 (criminal act with common intention), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 146 (rioting), 148 (rioting with armed weapons), 149 (unlawful assembly offence committed in prosecution), 323 (voluntarily causing harm), 324 (voluntarily causing harm by dangerous weapons), 351, 354 (outrage of modesty), and 509. (advantage of proximity, gesture to outrage modesty).
