Swashbuckling opener Prithvi Shaw took to social media to share a cryptic message after suffering a Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) injury during his One-Day Cup stint with Northamptonshire. Shaw posted an image of his strapped left leg while walking down from stairs and wrote, “People give hands when you step up in life, and always leaves it when you go down from steps ❤️”.
Last month, Shaw indicated that people misuse your trust and stated that he had no friends. Now, after this post, one could assume this to be an indication of what he had iterated on last month.
“People say a lot of things about me. But those who know me know how I am. I don’t have friends, I don’t like to make friends,” Shaw told Wisden India and Cricbuzz.

“I feel the concept of best friend has been created by us. ‘He’s my best friend’. Friends are fine, but there are no best friends as such. I also have, I am also a friend, but best friend – you won’t share everything with them. You won’t give your ATM pin to them, right? They say ‘best friend is the one who shares everything’. We can’t share all this, no?” Shaw further added.
Prithvi Shaw’s splendid summer in England ends sourly
Shaw was in splendid touch during his county stint, making 429 runs in four innings. The right-hander smashed 244 against Somerset and scored another century (125*) against Durham, averaging 143 and striking at an astonishing rate of 152.67.
Shaw injured his right knee while fielding against Durham and has been reportedly ruled out for at least a couple of months.
“After discussing with him, it’s evident that he will require around two to three months for a complete recovery. This indicates his potential readiness by December and aligns with the Ranji Trophy’s commencement in January,” an Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) official told Cricbuzz.
“Prithvi injured his knee while fielding in the fixture against Durham and subsequent scan results received this morning have revealed the injury is worse than initially expected,” Northamptonshire stated in a media release on Prithvi Shaw’s injury.
