Prithvi Shaw has once again showcased his extraordinary batting prowess, this time with a blistering 97-run knock for Northamptonshire in the England One-Day Cup. The Mumbai-born opener continued his red-hot form in the English domestic tournament, anchoring the innings with a superb strike rate of 136.61.
Prithvi Shaw power!
Shaw’s innings was a masterclass in aggressive batting. He effortlessly dispatched bowlers to all parts of the ground. Once again, he asserted his dominance against the likes of Bas de Leede, Paul Coughlin and James Minto, keeping them on their toes. The highlight of his innings was a flurry of boundaries, including 16 fours and a towering six, as he raced to his fifty in no time.
Unfortunately, Shaw missed out on a well-deserved century by just three runs, but his contribution was superb to Northamptonshire’s innings. His knock laid the foundation for a formidable total, with his team scoring 148 runs within the 23rd over itself.

It wasn’t long ago when Shaw hammered a quick-fire 79 against Middlesex earlier this week. With this, the Mumbai-born lad has become the leading run-scorer of the tournament alongside Haseeb Hameed. Both Shaw and Hameed have added 222 runs in 4 matches. While the English Test opener has struck at a rate of 76.5, Shaw has clubbed these many runs at a whopping strike rate of just under 130.
