Punjab Kings batter Ashutosh Sharma on Thursday produced a reaction of disbelief after nonchalantly hitting Jasprit Bumrah for a six over square leg. Sharma, who has been in fine form this IPL, was leading the PBKS charge chasing a huge total of 192 in the PBKS vs MI match.
Ashutosh making PBKS dream
Punjab Kings, chasing 193, lost wickets at regular intervals and looked far behind the target till Ashutosh Sharma walked out and took matters in his own hands. After Shashank Singh scored 41 from 25 balls to help PBKS on their way to the target, Ashutosh Sharma started his onslaught with Harpreet Brar by his side. Striking at a strike rate over 200, Ashutosh Sharma completed his half century in 21 balls to bring the required run rate close to 10 runs an over.
Clean sweep to Bumrah
However, the highlight of Ashutosh’s innings came when he slammed a fantastic six against Jasprit Bumrah over square leg. Bumrah bowled a full-length delivery outside off stump. Ashutosh walked over towards the off stump and swept the ball for a six over square leg.
Having timed the ball to perfection, Ashutosh produced a reaction of disbelief at hitting one of the best bowlers in the world for a six in that manner.
