Suryakumar Yadav-led Team India will take on Aiden Markram’s South Africa in a 3-match T20I series, starting on Sunday, December 10 at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. The Proteas will be without their regular skipper Temba Bavuma, who had a torrid outing in the ODI World Cup 2023. The hosts also received a big blow as star pacer Lungi Ngidi got ruled out of series due to ankle injury. However, South Africa will get a huge boost with the return of explosive batters Heinrich Klassen, and David Miller who have been team’s saviour down the order.
While the Men in Blue head into the series with a 4-1 win against Australia, the host are coming on the back of a 0-3 series whitewash by the Men in Yellow in September.
Tristan Stubbs to sit out for IND vs SA 1st T20I
Young batter Tristan Stubbs had a disastrous outing in the 3-match T20I series against Australia. The 23-year-old scored just 52 runs in 3 games. With the return of David Miller, the youngster is set to sit out for the 1st game.
Beuran Hendricks to return in SA XI after 2.5 years
33-year-old pacer Beuran Hendricks has been named as replacement for injured Lungi Ngidi for the first two T20Is. Hendricks last played a T20I in July 2021.
The pacer is likely to find a place in XI as a specialist seamer as South Africa have less experienced bowlers in the squad.
