Lucknow Super Giants will be hoping to put up an impressive show in their second game at home in IPL 2025 when they take on MI on Friday. After defeating SRH in their home ground, Pant & co. were handed a 8-wicket thrashing by Punjab Kings in the first match of their home leg. Akash Deep boost for LSG
LSG’s bowling line-up is becoming stronger slowly and steadily in IPL 2025. Pacer Akash, who was one of the four bowlers who missed the initial games due to injury, will make his return to the playing XI vs MI. His comeback will boost the home team’s pace attack which comprises of Shardul Thakur, Avesh Khan and Prince Yadav.
Ravi Bishnoi will continue to spearhead the spin unit. In fact he dismissed Rohit and Suryakumar Yadav three times each so far in the IPL. Digvesh Singh Rathi can play the supporting role for Bishnoi and is expected to play as an impact substitute.
Pant needs to break free from shackles of poor form
So far, the heavy lifting in terms of batting have been done by Marsh, Markram, Pooran and Badoni. LSG captain and Rs 27 cr buy Pant is yet to start firing in IPL 2025. He will have to break free from the shackles of poor form against MI, especially since he is playing at the Ekana after becoming the new LSG captain.
Barring Pant, batting isn’t a problem for LSG. They possess the depth that provides that good hitters until number 8. Not to forget, Akash can also whack some huge maximums as well.
