The duo will hope to continue on their fine form in Chennai. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav will hope to make a turnaround after being dismissed for a three-ball duck in the previous game. Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh will comprise of the strong middle-order.

Spin boost ft. Sundar

Chennai’s own Sundar is expected to be included in the playing XI for IND vs ENG 2nd T20I. The surface at the MA Chidambaram stadium is known to favour spinners more and India would want to make the most of it. Sundar, who will also increase the batting depth of the side, will join forces with Ravi Bishnoi, vice-captain Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy as India will hope to spin out England.

Shami doubtful

The wait for Shami to return in the Indian jersey might get extended as he is likely to be left out of the playing XI in Chennai. The pacer was excluded from the side for the 1st T20I, fuelling speculations about his fitness. However, skipper SKY had stated that he had been left out owing to the team combination. Regardless, Shami’s services will not be required in Chennai, given that pacers hardly get any help in Chepauk. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya will serve as the go-to pacers for SKY in the contest and are expected to play second fiddle to the spinner.
