Predicted India Playing XI: Patidar set for debut, selection headache in 2nd Test

IND vs ENG Test: Selection conundrum continues for injury plagued India, Rajat Patidar set for Test Debut in Vizag

An injury plagued India Cricket Team is set to face England’s Bazball again in Vizag for the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Team India will miss the services of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja which will see quite a few changes in the India Playing XI. Rajat Patidar is set to make his Test debut while Kuldeep Yadav eyes a comeback in red ball cricket.

Desperate for revenge, the India Cricket Team will be keen to go all guns blazing on the Three Lions. However, an injury plagued India will have to sort their playing XI carefully to field their best line-up from the resources available at disposal.

The top order remains unaltered. Skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal are expected to open the proceedings for the hosts. Rohit Sharma has been in luke warm form off late. Jaiswal on the other hand has shown his worth by going at hammer and tongs. However, the duo will have go on to score big runs in the upcoming Test match to give India a chance to stage a fightback.

Batting Woes Continue For India

At number 3, Shubman Gill will retain his place in the team. The absence of KL Rahul has worked wonders for the Baby GOAT. With no fifties in the last 9 Test matches, it is high time that Shubman Gill performs big in red ball cricket.

Shreyas Iyer will be in charge of leading the middle order. The KKR skipper will bat in his usual number 4 spot. With Iyer in poor form, hopes will also be high on the batter to score big for his country.

Towards the lower middle order setup, Rajat Patidar is expected to make his Team India Test debut. The batter has been in fine form in domestic circuit and will be aiming to replicate the same on his Test debut. KS Bharat was decent with the bat in the previous game and will play the role of the anchor down the order.

With no Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel will have a more imperative role in batting. He will pair up with the veteran Ashwin at 7 and 8. Kuldeep Yadav is expected to be the third spinner in the team. The pace attack will see no changes. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj will spearhead India’s attack.
