Rain plays spoilsport in Port of Spain, West Indies fightback halte

India are leading the series 1-0 and would be hoping to consolidate the top position in WTC points table provided rain gods show mercy

Port of Spain Weather: IND vs WI – While rain stayed clear during the first India vs West Indies Test in Dominica thanks to the visitors thumping performance, the same cannot be said during IND vs WI second Test set to be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Bridgetown. July is the month when rain is generally high in this part of the area, and the second Test, which will be Kohli’s 500th Test could witness stoppages of play.

During the first Test, the MET department had predicted rains in Dominica on days four and five. However, the match was finished inside three days as India registered an innings and 141 run win over West Indies. With India topping the WTC Points Table on account of a massive win, they would be keen to consolidate the position. Let’s check the weather forecast for the second Test.

Queen’s Park Oval Weather: Moderate rain to patchy rains are predicted for all five days of the IND vs WI 2nd Test

The weather forecast for the second Test does not look promising as moderate rains and patchy rains are predicted for all five days of The Test match starting from July 20 to 24. On the first day, moderate rain is predicted with 10. 6mm rains. The temperature is expected to remain at 30 degree Celsius. On the second day patchy rains are expected with 4.9mm of rain. On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, there could be small stoppages of rain.

However, there won’t be any extended rain delays on all five days of a Test match. The average temperature on July 26 to 28 would be 30 degrees Celsius. India are currently leading the series by a 1-0 margin. A draw would be enough for Rohit Sharma & Co to win the series. Meanwhile, the hosts would be desperate for a turnaround and eyeing to give a tough fightback.
