Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi is expected to attend the Cricket World Cup final match, as per RevSportz journalist Subhayan Chakraborty. Team India will play either Australia or South Africa in the World Cup final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19. Earlier this year, PM Modi had attended a Test match played between India and Australia at the same venue along with Australian PM Anthony Albanese.

Apart from PM Modi, India’s World Cup-winning skippers Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni are also expected attend the big game. Several other prominent political figures, retired cricket players, and officials from BCCI and ICC are also expected to be present during the final match featuring India.

PM Modi lauded India’s performance in semi-final’s

Earlier, The Prime Minister praised India’s performance as they defeated New Zealand to reach the World Cup final. “India puts up a superlative performance and enters the Finals in remarkable style. Fantastic batting and good bowling sealed the match for our team. Best wishes for the Finals,” Prime Minister posted on X.

PM Modi also lauded Mohammed Shami’s effort with the ball, saying it will be cherished by cricket lovers for generations to come.

To note, the home side has remained unbeaten in the World Cup so far. Senior batter Virat Kohli is leading the charts in the batting department after amassing 711 runs in just 10 matches. On the other hand, Shami’s seven wicket-haul helped him overtook Australian spinner Adam Zampa for the most wickets. The right-arm pacer has scalped 23 wickets in just six matches.
