“Playing with Virat is going to be really cool”: Liam Livingstone on playing for RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore secured Liam Livingstone at the mega auction for Rs 8.75 crore. Livingstone shared his thoughts on joining RCB.

In the recently held IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Royal Challengers Bangalore made a big move by acquiring the dynamic English all-rounder Liam Livingstone for Rs 8.75 crore. RCB managed to outbid Chennai Super Kings in an aggressive bidding battle to take the 31-year-old after he was released by Punjab Kings. Livingstone expressed his excitement about joining RCB, mentioning that the team’s style suits his gameplay well.

Livingstone’s excitement for RCB

While discussing his association with RCB for the upcoming season, Livingstone said, “The fan base is very passionate. It’s probably one of the biggest franchises in IPL… It’s a bit of a fresh start for me,” as reported to Reuters.

He further said, “I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game. It’s a little bit smaller than some of the stadiums in India, certainly better than what Punjab was for me. Hopefully, my game should suit that place well.”

Livingstone on Virat Kohli

Livingstone expressed satisfaction with RCB’s strategy during the IPL player auction. “I think we had a really good auction. We’ve got some good players, we picked up quite cleverly,” he noted. “There’s a few people in that team I know really well, so I’m pretty excited to get out there as a group. Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool.”

Dubai T10 sets the tone

Livingstone is currently playing for Bangla Tigers in the Abu Dhabi T10. He’s in a great composure, having hit a rapid 50 off just 15 balls earlier this week. “I think T10 is great for me, for my role, because we come in with not many balls left to play. So that certainly sets me up for the rest of the year,” he said.
