VVS Laxman

Vangipurapu Venkata Sai Laxman, popularly known as VVS Laxman, was born on November 1, 1974, in Hyderabad, India. Widely regarded as one of the most stylish and technically sound batsmen in Indian cricket history, Laxman was known for his elegant stroke play and composure in tough situations. A right-handed batsman, Laxman made his debut for India in 1996, and over the course of his career, he became famous for his remarkable performances in Test cricket.

Laxman is perhaps best known for his match-winning 281-run innings against Australia in the 2001 Kolkata Test, which is considered one of the greatest Test innings ever played. His knock helped India turn around a seemingly hopeless situation, and the match became a defining moment in Indian cricket history. Laxman’s ability to play under pressure, especially against top-quality bowling attacks, earned him a reputation as a true match-winner.
