Himmat Singh

Himmat Singh, born on November 8, 1996, in Delhi, India, is a talented cricketer known for his right-handed batting and right-arm off-break bowling. He represents Delhi in domestic cricket and has also had stints in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Himmat’s cricket journey began at the grassroots level with Delhi’s Under-16 team, where he displayed early promise. His consistent performances earned him a place in Delhi’s Under-19 and Under-23 teams. Himmat made his List A debut in the 2015–16 Vijay Hazare Trophy at the age of 19. His first-class debut came in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy season. Himmat also had the opportunity to represent India Under-23 in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, further showcasing his potential.

In the 2019 IPL auction, Himmat was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for ₹30 lakhs. Although he was released by RCB before the 2020 season, his skills were recognized again in the 2025 IPL auction, where he was picked up by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), marking his return to the league.

As a right-handed batsman, Himmat is known for his ability to anchor innings in the middle order and accelerate in the latter stages of a game. He scored his maiden century in List A cricket against Andhra, contributing significantly to Delhi’s victory. While he is primarily a batter, his off-break bowling provides added value and versatility to his game.

Despite some controversies early in his career, including a defamation case involving his father, Himmat has maintained his focus on cricket. His journey reflects his dedication and potential, with promising contributions to Delhi’s domestic success and a growing presence in the IPL.
