The players who went unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction were in demand in the Pakistan Super League. Many players who were rejected in the IPL auction were selected in the PSL 2025 draft to play in the next season.
Daryl Mitchell, David Warner, Alzarri Joseph, and Kane Williamson will make their debut in the PSL after being selected in the player draft. Mitchell, who has represented New Zealand in 70 T20Is, was the draft’s first pick and was chosen by Lahore Qalandars as a Platinum player. Warner will join Karachi Kings alongside Williamson, while Joseph will represent Peshawar Zalmi.
The draft took place in Lahore and lasted seven hours, highlighting better player availability for this edition, as the league now only overlaps with the IPL. The 2025 PSL will be held from early April to late May, and players not selected in the IPL auction will have the opportunity to participate in the tournament.
