After an underwhelming IPL 2023 season, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) will look to turn things around at the IPL Auction 2024. The Royals ended the last season ranked 5th, winning 7 of their 14 matches. Despite playing with a full-strength squad, RR did not achieve the success they strived for and will have to make some difficult calls before the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League. Here is the list of players that the RR management may retain in the hopes of winning their second title.
3 players RR might retain
- Sanju Samson: The skipper enjoyed great success in the last edition. Coming in as the middle-order enforcer, Sanju became the first RR player to score 3000 runs for the franchise. His 362 runs came at a rapid strike rate of 153.38, but he couldn’t ensure his side a top-4 finish.
- Yashasvi Jaiswal: Playing in his 4th edition, Jaiswal had a career-defining season, ending with 625 runs (most for RR), and his ton in the 1000th match of the tournament will be forever etched in T20 history.
- Jos Buttler: Arguably the best white-ball player going around, Buttler had a par season as per his standards. The English skipper managed to score 392 runs at a 139-strike rate but a below-par average of 28. The aggressive opener is known to go big when he gets going and won’t be let go by RR.
