But it wasn’t IPL where he burst onto the scene but an allied tournament – the Champions League T20. Pollard represented Trinidad and Tobago in the first edition of the tournament, in 2009, and stunned everyone with his power hitting. He hasn’t looked back since and has become a superstar of limited-overs cricket.
Kieron Pollard’s International Debut: Pollard’s entry into international cricket came well before his fireworks for Trinidad and Tobago in the Champions League. He first played for West Indies in the 2007 World Cup. But it was only after 2009 that he became a known face.
Kieron Pollard’s ODI Record: Pollard’s record till 2010 in ODI cricket is nothing to write home about. It was only in that year that he scored his maiden half-century. Still, it took a few more years for him to become consistent in the format. In the 2012 home series against West Indies, Pollard proved his credentials by winning the Man of the Series award.
Kieron Pollard’s T20 Record: While he is a superstar in T20 cricket, the big West Indian hasn’t always been a big success in international T20 cricket. It took him time to establish himself in the shortest format as well but now, he is captaining the West Indies.
Kieron Pollard’s IPL Record: After his heroics in the CLT20 for Trinidad and Tobago, Pollard was picked up by Mumbai Indians for the 2010 season and has remained with them ever since. He has played many memorable knocks for them and has bowled several worthy spells.
