A highly accurate bowler, one needs something really special as a batsman to disturb his line and length. Axar came into the public limelight after he was signed by the Mumbai Indians for the sixth edition of the IPL. Mumbai didn’t utilize him much and he remained largely a fringe player but Kings XI Punjab, however, roped him in for the next season, which turned out to be a successful move as he emerged as one of the exciting young talents in his first season with the franchise. Axar currently plays for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. Check Axar Patel’s Test Record, ODI Record, T20 Record, IPL Record, IPL salary

Axar Patel International Debut: Axar made his international debut in 2014 during a low-profile ODI series in Bangladesh. He soon became a like-for-like back-up for Ravindra Jadeja in limited-overs cricket. However, he faded away from the international scene with the arrival of other spinners on the scene. But the incredible success he had in his debut Test series against England has made Axar the toast of Indian cricket.

Axar Patel Test Records: Axar has played just three Test matches, that too because of an injury to Ravindra Jadeja. But he has 27 wickets from those three matches at an average of 10.59 and strike rate of 28.37. With four 5-wicket hauls for the left-arm spinner, Test cricket seems all too easy at the moment.

Axar Patel ODI Records: Axar’s ODI record reads 45 wickets in 38 matches. However, he hasn’t played an ODI since 2017. The main reason is India’s reliance on wrist spinners and Ravindra Jadeja’s good performances. But with his Test exploits, an ODI return may be imminent.

Axar Patel T20I Records: Surprisingly, Axar has played very few T20I matches. Again, that is due to the presence of other spinners in the Indian squad and the preference given to those bowlers who have done better in the IPL over the years. But he is back in the T20I side and may establish himself in the team. His 9 wickets in 12 matches in this format don’t do justice to his talent.

Axar Patel IPL Records: Despite being picked by Mumbai Indians in 2013, he didn’t get to play a single match in that year’s IPL. However, he had great success from next season onwards with Kings XI Punjab. He picked up 58 wickets in the next four seasons. Since then, there has been a slight decline but he still has a lot to offer with his tight bowling and also more than useful batting down the order.
