Former England spinner Monty Panesar has suggested that England should not shy away from sledging India’s star batter Virat Kohli in IND vs ENG Test series, starting on January 25.
While many have advised against poking Kohli as it brings out the best out of the Indian cricketer, Panesar opined that Ben Stokes and Co. should play with Kohli’s ego.
“Play with his ego and get physiologically stuck into him. They should also say things to him like, you guys are chokers when it comes to the final”, Panesar was quoted as saying by India.com

Panesar added that Virat Kohli is a ‘beast’, especially at home but his aggression could sometimes be a ‘problem’ and England should look to target that.
“Virat Kohli is a beast on home turf. He can change the course of whole game with his exceptional batting talent but problem with him is his aggression. And England knowingly will try to provoke him. I think that is the other way to get rid of him”, Panesar added.
Notably, Kohli holds a stunning record against the English side and is third on the list of top run-scorers against the Three Lions. In 28 Tests, Kohli has scored 1991 runs at an average of 42.36.
