Australian batter Phoebe Litchfield has been in sensational form in the ongoing IND W vs AUS W ODI series. Having hit consecutive half-centuries in the first two matches of the series, Litchfield did one better on Tuesday when she slammed a century in the IND W vs AUS W 3rd ODI. Litchfield’s rich form would definitely come as a boost to WPL side Gujarat Titans, who bought the batter for Rs 1 crore in the WPL 2024 auction.

The Australian Women won the toss and chose to bat first in the 3rd and final ODI. Litchfield has tormented the Indian bowling line-up throughout the ODI series and Tuesday proved to be no exception as well. The Australian opening pair of Litchfield and Aussie captain Alyssa Healy came out all guns blazing, adding 189 for the opening partnership. Litchfield carried on after Healy departed for 82, scoring her first century of the ODI series.
Litchfield scored the century with a strike rate of almost 100, hitting 16 fours and 1 six in the process.
Litchfield’s being in this kind of form is a good omen for WPL franchise Gujarat Titans. The Titans bought Litchfield for 1 crore. As the WPL 2024 approaches, GT will be hoping Litchfield maintains this kind of form in the tournament too.
