Peshawar Zalmi (PZ) have replaced Corbin Bosch in their squad for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 season. The South African had entered his name in the draft and was picked by PZ in the diamond category (Rs 50-75 lakh) in January.
The Corbin Bosch incident & his replacement
However, a couple of weeks back, the all-rounder decided to sign with the Mumbai Indians (MI) and feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season instead, for Rs 75 lakh.
The move didn’t go well. PZ approached the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and the board served Bosch with a show cause notice for breaching his contract. The Protean has responded to the notice, stating that he didn’t wish to disrespect anyone and is just doing what’s best for his career.
The PCB is mulling over banning him, as the PSL franchises have requested to take some action, but the PCB fears there’ll be backlash, which could lead to overseas players not signing to play in the PSL in the coming years.
In the meantime, PCB hosted a PSL replacement draft earlier today, and PZ has announced that another South African, George Linde, will replace Bosch in the diamond category for the entire 2025 season.

Partial replacements for New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Mark Chapman haven’t been named yet. And the same goes for Bangladesh’s Litton Das and Nahid Rana, who have been ruled out of the entire tournament.
