The India cricket team has received a major boost ahead of the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup 2024 match. The electric clash, which is supposed to be played on June 9 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, will now also hold the IND vs BAN warm-up match on June 1.
Big bonus for India
The match, which will be the sole warm-up match Team India will play, will be the perfect way to prepare for the India vs Pakistan encounter. The Men in Blue will also play their first game of the T20 World Cup 2024 against Ireland at Nassau.
Due to the IPL 2024 season ending on May 26, India will play just one warm-up match before they start their campaign. Meanwhile, the Pakistan cricket team will play no practice games. Due to the England vs Pakistan 4-match T20I series, Babar Azam’s men won’t be able to play any warm-up games and will directly play at Nassau Stadium on June 9.
Fans will also be allowed to watch India vs Bangladesh in New York. The warm-up match will be the first match to be played at the Nassau Stadium before the first official match is played on June 3 between Sri Lanka and South Africa.
T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-up matches rules
All 16 warm-up matches will be in the same format (20 overs per side) as regular T20Is but won’t carry international T20 status as teams will be allowed to field all the players of their 15-player squad in a game.
