The political unrest in Bangladesh has put the PAK vs BAN Test series in jeopardy. The two teams are slated to compete in a two-match Test series soon. Amidst the political turmoil, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has offered their help to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to help the Bangladesh Cricket Team travel to Rawalpindi as soon as possible.
It remains to be seen if the series at all takes place. While the BCB is yet to answer to PCB’s offer, the cricket body of Bangladesh in the meantime has delayed Bangladesh A’s arrival to Pakistan by 48 hours.
Political turmoil puts PAK vs BAN Test series in jeopardy
Such has been the political turmoil in Bangladesh that the government has been toppled. Coupled with that, some of the senior cricketer’s houses have been set on fire. With Bangladesh A’s delay, it remains to be seen if the tournament proceeds on time.
As per the recent plans, Bangladesh A is now slated to travel to Pakistan on 8th August. On the other hand, the senior Test team is expected to travel on 17th August. But given the unrest in the country, the PCB is offering to bring the players to their country as soon as possible.
Meanwhile reports claim that it is difficult to main contacts with BCB after the fall of their government. “With the BCB president (Najmul Hosain Papon) also leaving the country, the board is not functioning normally,” a PCB source told CricketPakistan.
