PCB offers hefty pay raise to Cricketers, provides flexibility in joining T20 Leagues

Pakistan Cricket Board has provided a hefty pay raise for their stars, also have made provisions and flexibility in joining International T20 leagues

The PCB has decided to reward their top cricketers with a heft pay package after the players revolted against the Pakistan Cricket Board. Now the PCB is set to offer good salaries and a monthly retainer-ship for their top stars with increased salary hikes. Earlier, the top stars were unhappy with the PCB not being able to provide them with proper contracts.

Now the PCB has decided to reward their stars owing to their dedication to the sport. The Chairman of PCB’s Management Committee Zaka Ashraf claimed that the apex cricketing body of Pakistan is ready to increase the salaries of their players.

Top stars in the team like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan who play all three formats of the game have been offered a monthly retainer of PKR 4.5 million each. Now this is a significant pay raise in comparison to their previous contract. Earlier the Test match playing players received 1.1 million rupees per month and the ODIs and T20I players got 0.95 million rupees.

The previous contract for the players expired on 30th June and the Pakistani players went on to play the PAK vs SL series with being centrally contracted to the PCB. It has also been understood that PCB has paid heed to the player demands and is willing to raise the salaries in other categories of the sport.

Apart from the pay raise, the board is also set to provide the player with much leeway. The A-category players are now allowed to join 1 international T20 league in a year, B-category players can join 2 T20 leagues while the C-Category players have the option to join 3 T20 leagues, thereby ensuring much more flexibility among the players.

In addition to this, the PCB is also offering more flexibility to players for participating in international leagues. A-category cricketers will be allowed to join one T20 league per year, while B-category cricketers can participate in two leagues annually. Category C cricketers will have the opportunity to take part in three leagues per year.
