PCB likely to take U-Turn on Babar Azam’s captaincy after Shaheen-Shan experiment fails

Another U turn loading for PCB? Captaincy crisis continues as Babar Azam likely set to become captain again

The Pakistan Cricket Board is likely to take a U-Turn again. After spilt captaincy experiment with Shaheen Afridi and Shan Masood failed, PCB is likely to return to Babar Azam. Pakistan’s recent performances have called for yet another change and the Men in Green are likely to revert back to their previous captain again.

Pakistan had a poor ODI World Cup 2023 stint in India. Following which then captain Babar Azam resigned from his role. Under such conditions, the PCB opted for spilt captaincy. Shan Masood took charge of the Test side while Shaheen Afridi took charge of the T20I side.

But trouble continued for the Men in Green. After a 3-0 loss in Tests against Australia, Pakistan were handed a 4-1 loss in T20Is by New Zealand. As per reports from Pakistan Observer, the PCB is likely to do a U -turn. Who will be the best fir? Of course the former skipper Babar Azam.

Mohsin Naqvi, the new chairman of the PCB is keen to make a plethora of changes. Among his grand scheme of things, reinstating Babar Azam as the captain of the team is a top notch priority.

After the PSL, Pakistan will play a 4-match T20I series against England. Following which they will travel for the T20 World Cup. It remains to be seen when Babar gets back his leadership role in the team.
