PCB fires 11 Pakistan analysts for ‘failing to meet performance standards’

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has terminated the services of 11 video and data analysts after they failed to meet performance standards

The Pakistan Cricket Board has reportedly terminated the services of 11 video and data analysts after they failed to meet ‘performance standards’. The PCB’s move comes after chairman Moshin Naqvi had ordered a review of the board’s analysts. The fired analysts are the latest to be thrown under the bus amid miserable performances by the national team.

PCB fires analysts now!

As per Cricket Pakistan, a committee was formed to scrutinize the performances and proficiency of the analysts in key areas. 26 analysts were tested out of which only 15 managed to clear the evaluation. While the services of the 11 analysts who failed the evaluation have been terminated, the other 15 who passed have been reassigned to various teams within the organization.

Change is constant, especially for the Pakistan cricket team and the PCB following the side’s miserable performances. From captain to coaches to selectors, none have been spared as the PCB cracked the whip multiple times in an attempt to revamp cricket in the nation.

Pakistan’s miserable run summed up

This year, Pakistan’s performance has been extremely poor. They’ve just won one series across all formats; that too came against Ireland. They played 2 T20I series against New Zealand (losing 4-1 once and drawing to their ‘F’ side 2-2), and against England, they suffered a 2-0 defeat in T20Is (two matches were washed off).

The worst was the loss to the USA at the T20 World Cup and their subsequent elimination from the group stage. Reports have suggested that Mohammad Rizwan could become the all-format captain soon after Bangladesh beat Pakistan 2-0 earlier in the month. But nothing has been confirmed yet.
