Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi met skipper Babar Azam and the selectors on Monday amid the ongoing row over captaincy. Shaheen Afridi, the previous white ball skipper, was replaced with Babar Azam after just one series. To make matters worse, a statement was released on behalf of Afridi by the PCB which reports suggested that the pacer had never made.
PCB chief meets Babar Azam, shakes hands with Shaheen Afridi
As per AFP, Naqvi met Azam and the selectors to discuss the team selection for the upcoming series against New Zealand.
The PCB said Naqvi “held a meeting with the selection committee to talk about the team’s selection ahead of the New Zealand T20I series”.
“The meeting was also attended by captain Azam,” the PCB added without mentioning any separate meeting with Afridi.
Further, sources told AFP that a picture released by PCB showed ex-skipper Shaheen Afridi shaking hands with Mohsin Naqvi. The report claims that this action removes any confusion over Afridi’s denial to the earlier statement made by the PCB.

“Following unanimous recommendation from the PCB’s selection committee, Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has appointed Babar Azam as white-ball (ODI and T20I) captain of the Pakistan men’s cricket team,” PCB said.
