PCB Chief hellbent on hosting Champions Trophy in Pakistan, refuses to comment on India’s travel plan

Pakistan will host the ICC event from February 19 to March 9 2025

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi finally breaks silence on the venue for the ICC Champions Trophy. On Monday, in a media address, the PCB Chairman said, “The Champions Trophy 2025 will only be played in Pakistan. I will not comment on the Indian Cricket Team, but insha’Allah, we will hear good news regarding India’s visit to Pakistan.”

Lahore to host an India-Pak clash

According to recent media reports, the PCB is all set to schedule the high-voltage India-Pakistan contest in Lahore. The match can take place in Lahore on Match 1 next year.

The Asia Cup took place in a hybrid format

Recently, the Asia Cup 2023 happened in a hybrid format after India refused to travel to Pakistan. Therefore, Pakistan was a co-host with Sri Lanka. The group matches were played in Pakistan, and India’s matches were played in Sri Lanka including the contest against Pakistan. India won the finals after defeating Sri Lanka at the RPS Stadium in Colombo.

The possibility of a “hybrid model” being employed again, with India’s matches played at a different venue, remains on the table.
