The Pakistan Cricket Team are on the hunt in acquiring head coach for the National side. As per reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approached Luke Ronchi for the position. Ronchi, currently the assistant coach for the Kiwis is yet to take a decision on this decision.
This is not the first time that Luke Ronchi has been approached by PCB to coach the Men in Green. Previous the New Zealand cricketer turned down an offer to coach the Pakistan team.
PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi is keen to make some pertinent changes in the team and the committee. And appointing a strong head coach for the National team is one of his utmost priorities. Currently Pakistan Cricket Team has no head coaches. This is primarily owing to the mass resignation of Mickey Arthur and Co earlier this year.
The Pakistan Team’s poor performance in the ODI World Cup, saw the PCB transferring Arthur and co to the NCA. But 2 months into their new jobs, the foreign coaches resigned.
It is pertinent to know that Ronchi, who has represented both his country of Australia and New Zealand, had previously turned down the PCB’s offer of becoming the Men in Green’s coach following which Bradburn was appointed on the said post.
The PCB is facing a crunch in appointing head coach for the National Team. Experienced candidates like Mike Hesson, Darren Sammy and Shane Watson refused to take the lead role.
