PBKS vs SRH Highlights: A nail-biter to remember for the ages. The IPL 2024 season is living up to expectations. A match that went to the final ball, and cricket emerged victorious. The Punjab Kings have lost their first match at home, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad tasted yet another victory as they look to make the playoffs for the first time since 2020.
Another special talent unearthed
The IPL has made many stars, and we have to find another one. Nitish Reddy, playing in his second IPL match, was the top scorer in the match and then returned to claim a wicket as well. The 20-year-old could be the next big thing in Indian cricket, and he showcased his talent with bat and ball. He smashed five sixes as he scored 64 off just 37 and sent Jitesh Sharma back into the hut.
Shashank & Ashutosh give Punjab Kings hope
With 29 needed off the last over, Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma scored 26 off 6 runs, but unfortunately fell short by just two runs. After their stunning performance against the Gujarat Titans, the duo stood up once again. Ashutosh smoked two biggies to start the final over of the match but failed to connect on the last three balls he faced and scored just 5 runs. Shashank ended the game with a six, but Punjab feels short of another miraculous win.
Arshdeep returns to form
After claiming just four wickets in the Punjab Kings’ first four matches, Arshdeep Singh has finally come good. Although the Shikhar Dhawan-led side lost the match, the left arm was one of the highlights of the event. He sent Travis Head, Aiden Markram, Nitish Reddy, and Abdul Samad. This bodes well for Punjab, despite them losing at home.
Bhuvi proves naysayers wrong
Bhuvneshwar Kumar had just one wicket to his name a couple of hours ago. That one wicket had come in 16 overs. The two-time Purple Cap winner was ineffective in every phase. But today, the powerplay king arrived. He bowled three overs in the powerplay and sent Prabhsimran Singh and Shikhar Dhawan back, giving up just 15 runs. His last over wasn’t the best, but the pacer showed that he’s still a handful with the new ball and shouldn’t be counted out just yet.
