PBKS vs RCB Player Ratings: A Virat Kohli special sends Punjab out of IPL 2024

With their massive 60-run win, RCB thrashed PBKS out of IPL 2024 and keeps their playoff hopes alive

PBKS vs RCB Player Ratings: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) kept their playoff hopes alive by registering one of their biggest wins of the season. They comprehensively best the Punjab Kings (PBKS) with a huge margin of 60 runs.

It was a complete team effort as RCB batters joined together to accumulate 241 runs in their first innings. While Rilee Rossouw looked threatening in the run-chase, it was uncomplicated for RCB, who kept dishing out brilliant deliveries to bundle PBKS out for 181.

PBKS vs RCB Player Ratings: Find out how did Virat Kohli and other perform

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Virat Kohli (9.5/10): A record-breaking knock by the modern-day master as he agonizingly missed his ninth IPL hundred by just eight runs. The RCB talisman played with superb intent and struck at a fantastic rate of 195. Kohli even pulled off a stunning run-out in the second innings.

Faf du Plessis (6.5/10): The intent was there for RCB skipper as well but failed to go past 9-run mark. However, he plucked a superb flying catch to dismiss Jonny Bairstow.

Will Jacks (6/10): The Englishman smashed one four and a six in the 7 balls he faced but failed to capitalize.

Rajat Patidar (8.5/10): The underrated star of the night for certainly Rajat Patidar, who clubbed 55 off a mere 23 balls. He looked in supreme touch as he took apart the PBKS bowlers with ease.

Cameron Green (7.5/10): The mighty Australian provided a superb finish down the order as he scored 46 off only 27 deliveries.

Dinesh Karthik (8.5/10): The Indian veteran continued his remarkable season with another effective cameo (18 off 7).

Mahipal Lomror (2/10): Came to bat in the last over but recorded a two-ball duck.

Swapnil Singh (8/10): Was superb with the ball as he took two wickets in his three overs. Swapnil has been great for RCB.

Karn Sharma (8/10): From one spinner to another, Karn Sharma bagged two big wickets of Rilee Rossouw and Jitesh Sharma.

Mohd Siraj (7.5/10): Looked wayward with the new ball but showed great courage to come at death and took three wickets in total.

Lockie Ferguson 8/10): The Kiwi speedster looked in great touch. With two wickets to his name, Ferguson even varied his pace quite brilliantly.

Yash Dayal (5/10): Bowled just two overs to leak 22 runs at 11 runs per over.

Punjab Kings (PBKS)

Prabhsimran Singh (3/10): Got dismissed in the opening over with 6 runs off 4 balls.

Jonny Bairstow (6.5/10): Bairstow would’ve kicked himself for not converting the start he got vs RCB. He was deceived by a slower one from Ferguson.

Rilee Rossouw (8/10): The left-hander was undoubtedly PBKS’ best batsman on the night, striking 61 off a mere 27 deliveries. He needed support from the other end but was eventually dismissed by Karn Sharma.

Shashank Singh (7/10): Shashank batted slightly higher and looked superb for his 37. He, however, was involved in a crash against Faf before getting run-out with a superb fielding effort by Virat Kohli.

Jitesh Sharma (2/10): Dropped to the substitutes, the Indian international once again failed. He got only five runs before getting castled.

Liam Livingstone (1/10): Brought in the team in place of Kagiso Rabada, the Englishman failed miserably.

Sam Curran (3/10): Giving the penultimate over to spinner Rahul Chahar, Curran’s tactics were a little off vs RCB. He even failed to contribute with either bat or bowl, recording 1/50 and 22, respectively.

Ashutosh Sharma (3/10): Ashutosh would be the individual to bore the brunt from Kohli’s heroics the most. It was him who dropped the RCB legend when he was at zero. The India uncapped failed to do something with his batting as well.

Harshal Patel (8/10): Bowled a dream last over, where he bagged three wickets and leaked only three runs. The wily pacer has now attained the Purple Cap as well.

Rahul Chahar (3/10): Chahar was understandably hit on a batting-friendly track. He leaked 47 runs in his three overs and lacked any sort of penetration.

Vidhwath Kaverappa (8/10): His debut IPL game could have been a something else if Ashutosh would have grabbed the chance of Virat Kohli. Regardless, Kaverappa looked mightily impressive as he bowled a tightly spell.

Arshdeep Singh (7.5/10): Got the prized wicket of Virat Kohli but was eventually hammered for runs through.
