Ahead of the big clash with RCB, PBKS batter Shahrukh Khan has revealed the story about how he got his name. In the last match for Punjab, it was Shahrukh who took his team over the line vs Lucknow Super Giants.
When Punjab Kings were chasing 160 against Lucknow Super Giants, young batter Shahrukh Khan’s excellent stroke play was on display. The 21st game of the Indian Premier League 2023 ended in another last-over drama as Sam Curran and company required 7 runs off the final six balls and only had two wickets left. Both sides were in a stressful situation, but the Tamil Nadu batter held his nerves to see his team through.
Sikandar Raza’s first IPL fifty and Shahrukh’s finishing stroke gave Punjab the upper hand. With the help of three sixes and four boundaries, the talented Zimbabwean all-rounder struck 57 runs off of 41 deliveries.

Both batters engaged in conversation after Punjab’s two-wicket victory, and the video of their exchange was posted on the official IPL website.
Shahrukh was questioned by Raza regarding the origin of his name. The TN player said that his parents gave him the name Shah Rukh Khan in honour of the famous Bollywood actor.
“I’m the first boy born in the family. I’ve got a lot of sisters in the family and they were all huge fans of Shah Rukh Khan. I was born in the year 1995 and his film, Baazigar had released somewhere around 1993-94. And my mom wanted to name me after him so that’s the reason,” Shahrukh told Raza.
