PBKS vs LSG: Mark Wood – England pacer Mark Wood showed off his uber-cool Lucknowi accent ahead of the clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday (April 28). Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Twitter handle shared a video of Wood in a very candid avatar, saying words with a touch of Lucknow flavor in it. Wood’s ‘Mohtarma’ and ‘Kisko Yaha se’ were absolute gold. The speedster missed LSG’s two games owing to illness, but it seems the pacer has recovered, and is raring to go against PBKS. Follow IPL 2023 Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

PBKS vs LSG: Mark Wood boost for LSG, as they eye to get back to winning ways against PBKS
Wood’s likely availability against PBKS will be a massive shot in the arm for LSG. The KL Rahul-led side lost their last game against GT and would be eyeing to make a strong comeback against PBKS. Wood is in sublime form for the Lucknow side scalping 11 wickets in five wickets. The 32-year-old’s extra pacer has managed to rush the batters and is proving to be the biggest asset for LSG.
Wood is likely to replace Naveen-ul-Haq in the playing XI against PBKS. The Afghan pacer bowled well against GT, but with LSG set to play Mayers, Pooran, and Stoinis, Naveen has to make way for Wood.
PBKS: LSG Wood to miss latter stages of IPL owing to daughter’s birth
Meanwhile, LSG will have to do with Wood’s services in the final weeks of IPL as the speedster is set to return home for his daughter’s birth. With Naveen-ul-Haq ably stepping up in Wood’s absence in the last two games, it seems likely he will step in for England pacers during the business end of the tournament. Currently, LSG are placed third on the points table with four wins from seven games.
