Chasing a target of 154, Punjab Kings struggled to get going in the powerplay against quality bowling from LSG bowlers. Mayank Agarwal although did get going but gave away his wicket in the 5th over.
Soon, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa departed, leaving PBKS reeling at 58/3. Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow took charge but they too did not last long.
A lot of credit goes to Krunal Pandya for the way he bowled, conceding just 11 runs in 4 overs in exchange for 2 wickets. Mohsin Khan returned with three wickets for 24 runs while Dushmantha Chameera returned with two wickets for just 17 runs. In the end, Rishi Dhawan did not do well either and Punjab Kings could only muster 133/8 in 20 overs.

Earlier, Punjab Kings bowlers were on top, restricting Lucknow Super Giants to 153/8. After Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda added a massive 85-run stand for the second wicket, Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar combined to trigger a collapse. From 98/2, LSG lost 7 wickets for just 46 runs.
