Punjab Kings clinched a nail-biting four-wicket victory over the Delhi Capitals in game number 2 of IPL 2024. The Rishabh Pant-led DC failed to defend the 174-run target as Curran and Livingstone took the Capitals’ bowlers to the cleaners.

Sam Curran (63) was the star of the day with the bat for PBKS, scoring his first half-century for the side and his highest score in IPL. Skipper Shikhar Dhawan (22) was clean bowled and his partner Jonny Bairstow was run-out by Ishant Sharma. The pacer then walked off the field after twisting his ankle. Impact player Prabhusimran played a 17-ball 26-run knock before he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav.
The chinaman struck once again, this time getting rid of Jitesh Sharma (9), thanks to a brilliant peice of stumping by Rishabh Pant. Liam Livingstone (33) and Sam Curran took control of the game thereafter.

Delhi Capitals got off to a blazing start, courtesy of the Australian duo of David Warner (29) and Mitchell Marsh (20). Debutant Shai Hope (33) played a slow-paced knock before he was dismissed by Rabada.
Making his comeback from injury, Rishabh Pant (18) looked in good touch. However, he was dismissed shortly after he was dropped by Harshal Patel an over earlier, brining the curtains down on his comeback.
Wickets continued to tumble for DC until impact player Abhishek Porel breathed fire in the last over. Porel took Harshal Patel to the cleaners, smashing 25 runs in the last over to power DC to 174 runs.
