After getting out in the 40s in his last two matches, CSK batter Ambati Rayudu finally managed to score his maiden fifty of the season. Rayudu who was not on the field when CSK fielded as he was nursing a wrist injury didn’t appear like a man who was down with an injury as he was in full flow with the bat.
Rayudu started off by hitting a boundary in the very second delivery that he faced. He continued his aggressive mode as he raced to his fifty in style off just 28 deliveries with a big hit into the stands over midwicket.
The highlight of his knock was three consecutive sixes off Sandeep Sharma in the 16th over of the innings. Sandeep bowled three juicy full tosses and Rayudu pounced on the opportunity to score three big sixes to give the momentum to CSK in the run chase.
He was however dismissed in the 18th over by a yorker from Rabada that castled his stumps. His knock though made CSK came close to winning the match, in the end it wasn’t enough as they lost the match by 11 runs to slump to their sixth defeat in eight games.
