PBKS Playing XI vs RCB, IPL 2021: Harpreet Brar all set to come back – KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings are in a do-or-die situation despite winning their match against KKR on Friday. They need to win both and any slip up will see them exit the tournament. In such a crunch situation, Punjab Kings will aim to field their best XI when they face RCB and that must include Moises Henriques who hasn’t played any part in IPL 2021 Phase 2 so far. The other change is all set to Harpreet Brar for Deepak Hooda.

Harpreet Brar’s slow left-arm spin has been difficult to read. While the team has placed a lot of trust in Deepak Hooda he hasn’t delivered and Brar’s bowling skills will be necessary on a slow Sharjah pitch on Sunday. The other surprise has been the omission of Moises Henriques. The Australian arrived in UAE with fine form but with foreign combination and Chris Gayle, he was dropped to the bench. But now that Gayle is not there, PBKS must get Moises Henriques back to offer the solidity in the middle-order.

PBKS Playing XI vs RCB, IPL 2021: Why Henriques & Brar should return?

  • As the match is at Sharjah, the wicket is expected to be slow and assist the spinners and bowlers who bowl slowers.
  • Harpreet Brar’s left-arm spin could be a handy tool against RCB batters.
  • PBKS’ batting has been top-heavy with the bulk of the runs being scored by KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal.
  • With Nicholas Pooran not in his best form, they need someone to bat well and for longer.
  • While Aiden Markram has done well, Moises Henriques’ batting ability is a plus. Furthermore, his slower deliveries could be a weapon against RCB.
  • Backing Deepak Hooda hasn’t borne any fruit. The KKR match was another example of it. In three matches in the UAE, Hooda hasn’t bowled and has scored 13, 28 and 3.
  • As Harpreet Brar has bowled economic spells, he is all set to come back to the Playing XI.
Deepak Hooda hasn’t had a good stint in the UAE, scoring 28, 13 and 3 in three matches

PBKS Playing XI vs RCB, IPL 2021: Punjab Kings’ batting has been top-heavy with only Aiden Markram playing some good knocks but the likes of Fabian Allen and Deepak Hooda both have disappointed. Hence, both Hooda and Allen are likely to be benched with Henriques and Brar returning to the playing XI.

However, the good change that PBKS made against KKR and it worked well was of Shahrukh Khan. His 9-ball 22 helped PBKS seal the victory against KKR and the Tamil Nadu batsman is all set to retain his spot.
