Punjab Kings (PBKS) endured a dodgy start with the bat in their clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 23 of IPL 2024. They saw a top-order collapse, registering 27/3 after six overs, the lowest powerplay score in the ongoing tournament so far.
Chasing a stiff total of 183, PBKS lost their overseas star Jonny Bairstow on a duck. The Englishman was rattled by the Australian and SRH skipper Pat Cummins, who bowled two overs for four runs in the powerplay.
The pick of the bowlers for the visitors was Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The veteran pacer took the prized wickets of Shikhar Dhawan (14) and Prabhsimran Singh (4) to reduce PBKS to 20/3 after five overs.
The most interesting dismissal of the lot was of Dhawan, who got stumped of a 140 kmph delivery after a superb work behind the stumps by Heinrich Klaasen.
