PBKS issue statement on Shashank Singh blunder
Issuing a statement on social media, Punjab Kings clarified that Shashank Singh was already on their target list and that a confusion occurred as two players shared the same name. Welcoming the 19-year-old on board, PBKS wished him luck in contributing to the success of the side.
PBKS’ Shashank problem
The bidding process began with Singh entering at a base price of 20 lakh, and Punjab Kings, eager to strengthen their squad, swiftly raised their paddles.
However, what seemed like a routine bidding scenario took an unexpected twist. The auctioneer Mallika Sagar declared that Shashank Singh was now part of Punjab Kings, but a moment of confusion clouded the air. It became apparent that Kings might not have intended to secure the services of this particular player. Despite the apparent mix-up, the hammer had fallen, sealing Shashank Singh’s fate as a Punjab Kings player for the upcoming IPL season.
