Sri Lanka pacer Matheesha Pathirana will play an important role in Sri Lanka’s upcoming T20I series against India. The young pacer, who has grabbed eyeballs with his Malinga-like bowling, shot to fame after being picked up by CSK. Pathirana flags new Indian coach, combo factor
Speaking about the challenges the side will face against India, Pathirana claimed that it would be a good experience for the side to take on the world champions. He added that the challenges were slightly different as they were a new set of players and a new head coach in place.
Pathirana admitted that a win against India would be a shot in the arm for Sri Lanka and that it will act as a confidence booster for the months to come. The three-match T20I series will commence from July 27 and will see India be led by Suryakumar Yadav and Sri Lanka by Asalanka.

“After my under-19s, I was not in any squad in Sri Lanka. But since my debut for CSK, I got those chances and got selected for Sri Lanka’s main team. Playing for CSK is a gift from god for me. Sharing the dressing room with Mahi bhai (M.S. Dhoni) is very special for youngsters like me, especially coming from Sri Lanka,” Pathirana said.
