Australia have trumped India in third consecutive ICC trophy final in men’s category. Australia U19 team thrashed India by 79 runs to lift the U19 World Cup title for a fourth time. India senior men’s team lost to Australia in WTC Final and ODI World Cup.
After opting to bat first, Australia put up 253 on the board in the first innings. India were bowled out for 174 runs. Despite a strong start by Harry Dixon and Hugh Weibgen, Uday Saharan and co. continued to chip away. Harjas Singh scored a gritty 55, and Oliver Peake’s 46* helped them stay in the U19 World Cup Final. For India, Raj Limbani was the standout, picking up three wickets while giving away just 38 runs.
However, India proved to be no match for Australia, who won their fourth Under-19 World Cup title comfortably.
