Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper, Pat Cummins has a golden opportunity to surpass legendary Shane Warne for captains with most wickets in an IPL season. Pat Cummins and Co. are set to take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 1 of the IPL playoffs on Tuesday. Cummins will be looking to scalp some wickets for his side and also try to surpass Shane Warne for the iconic IPL record.

As stated above, Shane Warne leads the list of captains with most wickets in IPL edition. Warne scalped a total of 19 wickets in the inaugural edition of the IPL back in 2008. The second on the list is Anil Kumble. The veteran spinner grabbed 17 wickets back in IPL 2010 as he was representing RCB.
Former PBKS skipper Ravichandran Ashwin scalped 15 wickets in IPL 2019. Currently, Pat Cummins has equalled with Ashwin for most wickets by captain in IPL season. The SRH skipper will have atleast two matches to play in the ongoing edition. If Cummins manages to take more than four wickets, then he will surpass his countrymen Warne to take the top position in the elite list.
