Passport, Phones left behind! Riyan Parag excitement for maiden India Tour lands him in hot water

The youthful Indian team, without the majority of its T20 World Cup-winning players, gathered in Mumbai on Monday evening and prepared to leave from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport under the leadership of Shubman Gill.

Prior to departing with the Indian team for their tour of Zimbabwe, batter Riyan Parag misplaced both his passport and two phones. The all-rounder from Assam claimed it was due to excitement, but he recovered each one in time to board the flight to Harare with the rest of the Indian team.

So excited that I’ve forgotten my passport. I’ve forgotten my phone. I’ve not forgotten, I’ve misplaced them. But I have it now,” Parag, who has earned his maiden India call-up, said in a video posted by BCCI.

Parag’s dream coming true

In a video released by BCCI, Parag, who will be playing for India in the series, stated that he had always wanted to travel like with the national side.

The feel of donning India jersey, travelling with the side is different. Coming from Assam, I had this dream of playing for India. Really happy. There will be a special connection for Zimbabwe when I play my first match,” Parag said.

Parag had a terrific IPL 2024, scoring 573 runs for Rajasthan Royals in 15 matches at an average of 52 scored at a strike rate of 149.22.
