The Pakistan Cricket Board are yet to announce their 15-member squad for T20 World Cup. The PCB has announced an 18-player squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. This squad will later be trimmed to 15 players to meet the ICC’s deadline for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
The Pakistan selection committee has recalled fast bowler Haris Rauf and all-rounders Hasan Ali and Salman Ali Agha. Haris Rauf and wicketkeeper-batter Azam Khan had missed the series against New Zealand due to injuries, while Mohammad Rizwan and Muhammad Irfan Khan were rested due to minor niggles.
However, all four players have since undergone fitness assessments at the National Cricket Academy and showed significant improvement, providing confidence to the PCB Medical Panel and the team management.
Salman Ali Agha, who brings aggressive middle-order batting and off-spin bowling, has been named in Pakistan’s spin department, joining the likes of Abrar Ahmed, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, and Shadab Khan. Usama Mir and fast bowler Zaman Khan, did not make the cut this time.

When will Pakistan’s T20 World Cup squad be announced
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has delayed the announcement of its World Cup roster to late May due to physical and performance difficulties with several players. Pakistan would reveal their World T20 Cup roster on May 23 or 24, the ICC’s deadline for participating nations to revise their squads without obtaining permission from the WC Technical Committee.
The management and selectors are concerned about minor injuries to Muhammad Rizwan, Azam Khan, Irfan Khan Niazi, and Haris Rauf, and will monitor their performances in Ireland and England.
