Openers – Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan

Babar Azam revealed before the India game that he will be opening the batting for Pakistan along with Mohammad Rizwan in the T20 World Cup. In the very first match, the duo delivered in a great fashion by posting 152 runs opening stand. Both the opening batsmen scored the fifties in the game and are likely to continue at the top.

Middle Order – Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik

Pakistan’s middle-order has a combination of experience and youth. Fakhar Zaman has shown brilliant form in the warm-up games and will aim to continue the same however he will not be playing at his usual position that is opening the batting. Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Malik will be the number 4 and 5 for Men in Green. Both these batsmen have vast experience of playing T20 cricket around the world which would be useful for the team. However, their strike rate can be a thing of concern for the Pakistan team mangement.

Lower Order – Haider Ali in place of Asif Ali

Asif Ali was given the opportunity in the first game ahead of Haider Ali. Asif did not get any chance to showcase his talent however Haider could prove vital against the leg-spin of Ish Sodi in the New Zealand game. However, it would be a big decision for Pakistan team mangement as they will want to continue with the winning team.

Pacer – Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi

Except for Hasan Ali, all the bowlers on Pakistan’s side were impressive in the first game. Shaheen Afridi was economical and he took three wickets of India’s Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Haris Rauf picked just one wicket but was very economical. Hasan Ali needs to pull his game up as he leaked runs at an economy of 11 in the opener.
