Pakistan’s ‘Gala Dinner’ postponed after humiliating T20 World Cup loss against USA

Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif shared a dinner invitation image of the Pakistan team after Pakistan's loss to the USA in the T20 World Cup and asked some spicy questions to the PCB management.

After Pakistan lost to the USA in the T20 World Cup 2024 game, there is no question that every critic is geared up with their strong reactions. From cricket fans to former legends, everyone has expressed their opinions on Pakistan’s performance on June 6th. Speaking more about the cricket community in Pakistan, they declared June 6th as a black day. Since the team lost the game against the hosts in a super over. Amidst all the hussle and fuss, former Pakistan cricket captain Rashid Latif’s tweet is going viral. Where Latif is seen sharing an image explaining how Pakistan players were invited by the local Pakistanis on May 7th. But since Pakistan lost the game against the host, the dinner gala got canceled.

Speaking more about Latif, he criticized the team management for saying, ‘Who is providing the tour schedule in advance to who? Are these pre-arranged? Who is giving the go-ahead for events during a World Cup?’ @TheRealPCBMedia,” he wrote on X.

One loss, many questions

As mentioned, the cricket fraternity in Pakistan has shown a strong reaction this time. On one hand, former skipper Younis Khan said, “What was most disappointing was the fact that there is a huge Pakistani community in the USA, which supports the team wholeheartedly.” Whereas former legendary Pakistan pacer Wasim Akram said, “It didn’t seem like Pakistan was playing against a team that has limited exposure against top teams.” He was also critical of the lack of effort on the field by some of the players.

What’s next for Pakistan?

With a game against India on June 9th. There is no question that, despite Pakistan’s previous performance against USA, India will not take the cornered tigers lightly. On the other hand, the team will try to make an impact in all the upcoming matches if Pakistan is really looking to secure a spot in the Super Eight.
